Research Associate (m/w/d) at the Institute for Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology
The Institute for Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology and the Bioanalytic Core Facility at the University of Lübeck are looking for a highly motivated PhD student for the project
“Liver-Brain axis in ischemic stroke: the therapeutic potential of targeting hepatic metabolism”
Ischemic stroke is one of the leading causes of mortality and adult disability worldwide but treatment options are limited. In our previous work, we observed pronounced alterations in the liver of a mouse model of ischemic stroke via liquid chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). Therefore, we are planning to investigate the liver-brain axis after ischemic stroke using RNA sequencing, additional LC-MS/MS measurements, cell culture and animal experiments.
Candidates should be interested in biochemistry, the metabolome, neurosciences and translational research. Experience concerning the above-mentioned methods is appreciated, willingness to acquire further techniques is expected.
A scientific university degree in the field of life sciences is a prerequisite. This is a fixed-term position for three years, with the possibility of extension. Salary will be according to the German salary scale E13 TV-L (65%). Earliest possible start is the 01.12.2025.
Our small, dynamic team stands out with excellent training and individual supervision. The laboratory is located in the well-equipped Center of Brain, Behavior and Metabolism (CBBM; https://www.cbbm.uni-luebeck.de/cbbm). The modern research center provides close contact to other research groups and excellent researchers.
