Dear students,

Within the group ‘Cerebral Perfusion and Metabolism’ we are currently seeking two students for two independent master theses. The theses will be linked to an ongoing PhD project, for which the central regulation of carbon dioxide-induced metabolic changes and their changes in cerebral endothelial dysfunction are investigated. If interested or for further information please contact Jan Wenzel (jan.wenzel(at)uni-luebeck.de). For one of the positions, a certificate for laboratory animal science is required.

Methods:

• Gene expression analyses
• Protein amount analyses
• Immunohistochemistry

Additional methods for the work with animals:

• Working with genetically modified mice (handling, i.p. and s.c. injections)
• Phenotyping of mice including measurement of thermogenesis and activity
